Do You Have Kindness In Your Heart?

Hello my lovelies! How was everyone's week? Please don't be afraid to comment. It would be amazing to hear everyone's stories. Let me be that ear that listens to you. And that leads me to today's topic: kindness.

Do you think the world revolves off of kindness? Do you think that it could be achieved? Personally, I believe everyone has a little bit of care within them. Whether it was seeing the wrong that someone has done to you, and you treat them with love regardless of the pain they caused, or you just want to be a blessing to someone. Well, let me take you on my mini journey of "How the nicest lady took (and takes) care of me like I'm her blood relative". It all started August 20th when I moved in to BSC to start my new life in college. My main focus when I pulled onto campus that faithful day was how the rest of my would pan out, and would I be successful. I was also worrying about how I was going to pay for my books, since I just barely paid for fall's tuition. Honestly, it was by the grace of God that I'm even able to attend BSC this year. After we went through orientation, classes began immediately, and my class work flooded in. Right after every class I attended, I told them about my financial situation (which they understood). They told me that I could borrow the books they had to get my work done; even though I was given the option, I still went to the bookstore holding onto nothing but my faith. There was the nicest lady I had ever met, and she talked to me about what was going on; she told me that she would help me get my books if I didn't have the money. Mind you, this nice lady knows nothing about me, yet she was willing to pay for my books that could have been almost five hundred dollars. Now let's fast forward to last Friday (October 7th, 2016). In my printmaking class, we are making posters for one non-profit of our choosing. My organization is the Boys & Girls Club of Rutherford County because they have done so much for me. We have to use Epson's Digital Paper (it comes in a pack), and it cost $10.52 without tax. My mother supplied with ten dollars to pay for my paper earlier that day, and my new mother walked with me around the bookstore to catch up on my life. We were just talking about regular topics about class, then she told me that she would pay for my paper. I started jumping and screaming for joy because she decided to help me regardless of the fact that she barely knows me. She told me that she wants to invest in my education because of how hard I try in my classes.

Invest in my education? Invest in my future? She wants to see me achieve great things. It's the kindness in her heart that motivates her to see the success of children and young adults. My question to you is, how do you use the kindness within you? How do you respond to the kindness others give to you? Will you be like my new second mom, and invest in others success outside of your own? This weeks challenge is to be kind to others, and help in anyway you can. Just simply speaking to them is fine, just do something different for a change.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
