Do You Accept The Bachelorette?

Why we love the show.

Do You Accept The Bachelorette?

It's that time of the year again; when one lucky girl gets to have over 20 men fight for her love, attention, and if you're Chad...FOOD! The show is addicting, cheesy, romantic, but entertaining nonetheless, especially when The Bachelorette is America's beloved JoJo. Do you accept this rose to continue? Here is a list of why we love The Bachelorette.

1. Unlike The Bachelor, this time its up to girl.

It is the more chivalrous show of the two; guys having to prove themselves to the woman. When The Bachelorette is broken up with in the way JoJo was we want to see a positive end to that story. This is her second chance and lets be real, we are all rooting for her!

2. We LOVE to HATE the bad guys...

This season it is the infamous Chad, but every season there always is at least one guy who the guys hate, America hates, but he somehow seems to charm the girl. We hate the bad guys, but at least we collectively as an audience get to enjoy the inevitable collapse. Its the car wreck of love; you can't look away!

3. The show is romantic!

Love it or hate it, the dates around the world, the songs and letters guys write, the "I'm falling in love with you"s. Everything just restores a sense of romance that many of our single lives may be missing. We want JoJo to get engaged and make it down the aisle. It has worked in the past so we always have hope.

4. Jojo's outfits.

The girl has style. And she's gorgeous. Probably just her whole life in general looks cool.

5. We have our favorites.

You fall in love with your own pick for The Bachelorette. Some people are competitive and Bachelor Brackets are the new thing, but we want her to pick who were rooting for. That is why Jojo is The Bachelorette to begin with; because everyone was picking her even though Ben didn't.

6. The men.

We love some man candy, lets be real. Shirtless 6-packs aren't a bad thing to see on a Monday.

7. The Bachelor/ette is slightly a TV cult.

We tweet about it, girls talk about it, and the show is all over social media. Its a topic of conversation when you see your friends. "What do you think of Jordan?" "Chad is awful." "I wish Alex was taller."

8. The drama and the weird stuff makes the show.

Hipster and Canadian as occupations. A guy saying she was nagging. Punches thrown, bloody hands? We haven't seen this play out yet but get your popcorn ready for when it does. The show can be ridiculous sometimes there is no denying that, but it is addictive and entertaining all the same.

We love The Bachelorette. No shame, or maybe a little who knows. Either way, come Monday we are tuned in to hear Chris Harrison's voice say "Tonight, on The Bachelorette"! And we all know...its going to be "the most dramatic season yet!"

The transition into adulthood is never easy

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

9 Reasons Why Friends Are Essential In College

College without friends is like peanut butter without jelly.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
