Everyone struggles with being busy. School, work, internships, family, friends, significant others, a social life. So often we try to keep up with everything going on around us that we forget how important it is to take care of ourselves.
It is okay to tell someone you don’t feel like hanging out because you are tired, had a long week or just want to relax by sitting in bed and binge-watching your favorite show.
It is important to do things that YOU want to do and that makes YOU happy. It is okay to put your happiness above someone else’s. Especially because more than likely, they would do the same thing if they were in a similar situation.
One thing people struggle with is the idea that individuals should jump up and do what they want right when they want it. This should not be how you feel and you shouldn’t be expected to be ready to go do something just because they want to do it.
Sometimes it is better to make sure you have done the things that you need to get done so you don’t have to stress out about running late or don’t even get it done at all.
I have always struggled with the idea that I am responsible for keeping other people happy.
You do not have to stick around for anyone or anything that does not bring you happiness.
Mental health is SO important and has become more openly discussed in society.
While there is still some awareness that needs to be brought to light, you can always improve your mental health.
Getting out of a situation that is not mentally healthy can improve your quality of life and mood -- I personally can vouch for that statement.
You do not have to stick around for anyone or anything that does not bring you happiness. Do what is best for YOU.
