12 Fun Things To Do On A Girls Night In

It's summer and that means endless girls' night ins! I have spent most of my summer doing sleepovers with my girls. There are so many things you can do on a girls' night in to bond and grow your friendship. So here are 12 fun things I did this summer with my girls on a girls' night in!

1. Do a movie marathon

One can never get bored with Harry Potter marathons. Jump into your favorite pair of pajamas and grab some popcorn!

2. Cook dinner together

Share your favorite recipes with each other and chat while you cook. There's no way better way to bond than over food!

3. Give each other a makeover

Pick out outfits for each other and do each other's makeup. Flaunt your outfit as your pretend to walk on a ramp!

4. Dance your heart out

Dance your troubles away!

5. Make PowerPoint presentations to update each other on your lives

These girls did it and so can you! If you are meeting your friend after an extremely long time, this is a fun way to catch up.

6. Do some DIYs together

If you and your friends are crafty, watch some DIY videos on YouTube for inspiration and make your own creations. Some of my favorite DIY channels on YouTube are LaurDIY, Bethany Mota, MyLifeAsEva and Alisha Marie.

7. Do a photoshoot

Look up some photo ideas on Pinterest and do a photoshoot with your friends. #BFFgoals

8. Recreate old photos

If you have been friends for a long time, recreate your old photos. Try to match your poses and clothes as close as you can to the old pictures.

9. Plan your next trip

You and your friends will definitely be going on a trip in the summer. This is the perfect time to plan your future trip. Decide the location, budget and start planning your outfits!

10. Relax with a spa

Play some relaxing music in the background and apply a facemask while sipping on some cold lemonade.

11. Have a deep meaningful conversation

Midnight conversations that turn into really meaningful talks about the meaning of life are the best!

12. Compete with each other

Play multiple rounds of different board games and declare the ultimate champion! If you are not a fan of board games, you can also play two-player games on your phone such as QuizUp.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
