Who's in control of your life? Without thought 99% of you would say "I am", but actions speak louder than words.
From the minute our eyelids open before our feet even touch the ground most of us are looking at our phones or iPads. Our day continues to shape us with work, kids, pets, appointments, household chores and more all while sharing each event on social media and taking selfies in-between.
Long gone are the days when I didn't know what my friends were eating, who they were with, or what event they and/or their kids were attending. If we meet someone who isn't on social media we look at them as if they have two heads. We shake our head in disbelief and jump right back on our own hamster wheel. I am Guilty!
An unexpected friendship this year has taught me to stop, drop, and breath! To "share" my life less and "live" more. Less is the NEW more!
Try one or more of the following to do less with more focus!
Remember NO is an option. Most of us have a nature to please and when asked will take on more than we can give 100% to; sometimes the best yes is no.
Appreciate what you have. Turn your focus from what you want; to enjoying what you have. Everything we own actual owns a small piece of us. Donate items you no longer want or use. Your stuff will become someone else's treasure.
Power down for dinner; no cell phones allowed! Give your family and/or friends the gift of your undivided attention, go old school. Remember when life lessons where learned around the dinner table. Share your days events & life with those who love you over great eats!
Schedule MEtime! You are awesome, enjoy your own company. Recharge your batteries with exercise, a good book, a bubble bath, a visit to a cafe, or simply nothing.
Life can be a balance of moving forward with what should define you by letting go of what's confining you!
