Thanks to busy schedules and tight budgets, the majority of us never get to enjoy the luxuries of a spa. Although going to a spa facility can be nice, it's usually quite expensive, but you can make your own affordable spa at home. Try out these 5 easy DIY spa treatments to pamper yourself and feel your best.

1. Revive Your Locks with a Coconut Oil Mask

Coconut oil will make your hair soft, shiny, and strong. You will instantly be able to tell that your hair is more moisturized and looks healthier overall. All you need is some unrefined coconut oil. You can get this at your local supermarket. Take about two to three tablespoons of the oil and spoon it into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave the oil for five-second increments, until the oil is able to easily squish between your fingers. Liberally spread the oil over your entire head, concentrating on your ends. You can keep this mask on for a minimum time of 30 minutes, but I usually leave it on overnight. Since the product is all natural and has no chemicals, it won't harm your hair. When you are done masking, simply was your hair as you usually would. You might have to shampoo a few times to get all of the oil out.

2. Freshen Up Your Complexion with a Face Mask

A face mask will make your skin feel more alive, plus it will help clear up any complexion problems. If you have a favorite store-bought mask (mine is the Tony Moly Clear Skin mask), throw that on and let it work its magic. If you don't have a mask ready, you can easily make one. Get out your unrefined coconut oil again, and repeat the same heating process, this time with two teaspoons of oil. Once the oil is heated, add in one and one-half teaspoons of honey. Thoroughly mix the ingredients, and then apply to your face. Leave the mask on for 10-25 minutes, and then rinse thoroughly.

3. Give Your Skin Some Love

Whether you are a bath or a shower person, turn the hot water on and jump in. Scrub your body with your favorite cleanser or soap. You can use a loofah to exfoliate, or simply use your hands to massage your skin. Once you're done in the water, hop out and quickly dry off. Immediately apply your favorite moisturizer to your skin. Applying moisturizer quickly after a soak will help to lock in moisture and keep your skin feeling extra soft all day long.

4. Give Yourself a Mini-Manicure

Most of us tend to neglect our nails unless we go to a salon and get them done. Take a few minutes and beautify your nails with a simple manicure. Remove any old nail polish with some polish remover and a cotton pad. Take a nail brush and wash your hands with warm water and soap, focusing on removing the dirt from underneath your nails. If your nails need a trim, use clippers to cut them into shape. If they're too short to cut, use an emery board to shape them. Massage some lotion into your cuticles to moisturize them. If you would like, add a new coat of nail polish to your nails for a pop of color.

5. Relax Your Eyes

Our eyes have a tendency to look tired as time goes on, but luckily you can rejuvenate them quickly and painlessly. Simply take two bags of chamomile tea and steep them in hot water for about 10 minutes (drink the tea so you don't waste it). Take the tea bags out of the water and let them cool in the fridge until they are no longer hot. Once the bags are cool, lie down and place them over your eyes for about 15 minutes. You will instantly notice a reduction in redness and puffiness.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
