1. Wake up everyday and look at the sky

2. Breathe fresh air and put your bare feet in the grass at least once a day.

3. Guarantee yourself a good day, everyday.

4. Before you judge something, list three good things about it.

5. Understand that people make mistakes.

6. Put your favorite quote somewhere that you'll see it everyday.

7. Always put your own health, happiness, and needs first.

8. Smell fresh laundry..

9. Write yourself a nice note.

10. Make a smoothie.

11. Take three deep breaths when you feel overwhelmed.

12. Set the background on your phone to an aesthetically pleasing picture.

13. List the things in your life that really matter to you.

14. Appreciate the small things, like a sunny day.

15. Remind yourself how important you are

16. Treat others with respect.

17. Treat yourself with respect.

18. Stand up for yourself and your ideals.

19. Tell your friends how important they are to you.

20. Every once in awhile, thank your parents (if we thanked them as much as they deserved, that would be all we could say).

21. Never forget your goals.

22. Spend time alone, and enjoy it.

23. Appreciate the person you are.

24. Listen first, then speak.

25. Buy a coloring book.

26. Explore a record store.

27. Go for a hike.

28. Always look for shells at the beach.

29. If you see a dog, pet it.

30. Remember that just because you're in a different place your life than your peers, does not mean you're in the wrong place in your life.

31. Recognize there is beauty in strange.

32. Strive to live an impactful life.

33. Appreciate your unique qualities.

34. Never forget where you came from.

35. Don't set unrealistic standards for yourself.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself?
