Throwing a football party at home isn't as daunting as it seems. All it takes is a little intuition and some crafting skills, or the money to buy the supplies. In my case, I enjoy a more "do it yourself" take on a home football party. Below are some of my quick tips to have a crafty party.
1. Be sure to buy a lot of chips and dip. A football game party isn't complete without chips and dip. Although for my healthy readers, a veggie/fruit plater could also suffice for this aspect of the party. A few simple ways to dress up these platters is to take a wine glass, fill it with dip and add it to the center of your chip bowl with chips below it. If you are hosting a fall game, clean out the center of a pumpkin, put a cloth down and add chips to that.
2. Another must need at football parties are decorations. As I live in Tallahassee, Florida, my favorite football team are the Florida State Seminoles (FSU). A really simple decoration for a football party is: grab a large old frame, spray paint it a color of your choice of team, spray/paint the mirror or back of it with chalkboard paint and write the game schedule on it.
3. You can't throw a football game without being able to watch the game. You can leave your television where it is, if you want. What I sometimes do is move mine to a window that looks onto my back porch where my guests and I are able to watch the game outside with some fresh air.
4. Finally you need to have some drinks. Only alcoholic if you are over 21 of course. A cute way to dress these drinks up is to find some mason jars. I believe most Walmarts sell them singly and in packages. Once you have the mason jars, grab some white paint and paint the football stitching on the side. If you want to dress it up more, grab some ribbon of your teams color and tie it on the top.
