Couples get divorced for many reasons; such as a loss of love, affairs, and constant fighting. For adults, it's an alined agreement. For the children, it's a heartbreaking, lonely, foreverness.
Life goes on in the eyes of an adult, they find another partner and move on. However for a child, day by day it eats away at you; You can never find another parent. Your two parents will always be your parents.
Children struggle everyday with recovering from a divorce, some don't even get the chance to recover. Going through a divorce is one of the hardest things a child could go through. Children don't get the concept of a divorce, they see it as a broken bond between two who mean the most to them. They don't understand that some divorces are called upon and necessary.
A divorce, for a child, is like belonging to an empty world.
Parents do not consider the children's feelings when it comes to living the divorced life. All they think about is their life, their new life. Parents do not understand how hard it effects the children when they talk bad about one another. Parent's do not realize how crushing and heartbreaking it is to live with divorced parents. You get reminded every morning you wake up and every night when you go to bed. You almost feel like you're not good enough for your parents.
The life of a child with divorced parents is depression, anxiety, stress, pressure to be good enough, being scared you aren't good enough. A divorced life is one of the hardest things you can go through, especially as a teenager. You lose interest in things you love, you never want to get out of bed or all you wanna do is be gone, it's a very low self-drive to succeed. It's many things...
So, to the parents, from us children, please consider our lives too. It's harder for us than it is for you.
