Unless you have been living under a rock during football season and even in between, you are aware that Colin Kaepernick took a stand against oppression by taking a knee during the National Anthem.

If you've been paying attention recently, you are aware that more and more players seem to be following suit.

The players are using their platform to make a change and speak out against racial injustices that still live, even thrive, in this country. Those who are against this take it as a sign of disrespect toward the flag. Here are all the ways, according to the United States Flag Code, that the flag is being disrespected daily.

1. "The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever."

2. "It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like..."

3. "...printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard."

4. "No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. "

5. "The flag should never be used as wearing apparel..."

6. "... bedding..."

7. "... or drapery."

8. "The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free."
