As a Disney fanatic, any whisper of a rumor about a new ride is exciting. A few years ago, when Disney released an April Fool's statement revealing the transformation of Cinderella's castle to "Frozen" main character, Elsa, fans were pitted against each other as they defended their loyalty to each princess. Although Elsa never invaded Cinderella's castle, she and the rest of the characters from the beloved movie, "Frozen," do finally have their own ride in Walt Disney World, Orlando.
Queen Elsa has gained her own spot in the country of Norway in Disney's Epcot park on June 21st, guiding fans through the journey offered by boat ride, Frozen Ever After. According to Walt Disney World's website, guests can sail through Arendelle "aboard an ancient Norwegian vessel," becoming immersed in Elsa's icy kingdom.
Although not a thrill ride like Space Mountain, Frozen Ever After provides guests the opportunity to join the world of the characters, rather than being divided by a television screen. The ride welcomes guests to make this transition in typical Disney-fashion. The line is no ordinary line. Guests zig zag through a lantern-lit set of Arendelle's village.
On opening day, it definitely helped to have Fast Passes as the wait time reached 300 minutes. However, fans and reviews of the ride say it was well worth the wait to see their favorite characters tell the story as real life creatures.
Throughout the glowing, sailing expedition through the world of "Frozen," guests will meet Olaf, Kristoff and his family, Anna, and more. The ride recaps the story of the movie in a way that will be unforgettable for all who embark on the voyage.
