Disneyfied: Dumbo

An eye look inspired by the Disney classic "Dumbo."

As some of you may know, during the month of March, Disneybound challenges followers to put together a different ensemble each day. This year, the theme for March 5 was a favorite character from childhood. The only thing that came to mind was Dumbo (albeit more the ride than the movie), but upon raiding my closet, I couldn't find anything that fit.

So I improvised.

This week: Dumbo

1. Apply crease and lid shades.

After applying an eye primer, buff a matte dusty mauve eyeshadow into the crease, followed by a light peachy pink on the inner half and a gray shade on the outer half (matte or shimmer for both colors). Blend the colors together with a blank brush.

2. Draw ruffles on the lower lashline.

(If you're doing your face makeup, do it before this step.)

Using a red liquid or gel eyeliner, draw a squiggly line right on the lower lashline, then follow that line with a yellow or gold liner, followed by the same red one. If some of the product transfers from the first line, it can be easily fixed by drawing the line over it. Fill in any small gaps with a matching eyeshadow on an angled or pencil brush.

3. Line and highlight.

To start on the magic feather, line the upper lashline with a black eyeliner (the thinner the point, the better) and bring it to a small flick in the outer corner of the eye. Map out a dramatic wing extending from the line - curved, not straight like you would with a regular cat eye - and use short strokes on either side of the wing to fill in the feather design. Draw a short point out from the center line. Highlight the inner corner with a sheer silver shadow on a small brush, then highlight the browbone with a nude matte shade.

Tightline the lower waterline with a white pencil eyeliner, then finish with a black mascara.

In honor of the release of the new Beauty and the Beast remake, next week's look will have a certain mysterious, symbolic, ticking-clock quality to it...

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
