When you go to Walt Disney World these are the must go rides you have to go on. From fun with fairies to daring pirate adventures, Disney has it all. These rides are what makes Disney so magical.
10. Mad Tea Party
Probably the most iconic ride in Disney, the Mad Tea Party is probably as simple as a ride can get. But, it's so much fun to get super dizzy, especially with family and friends. Plus you feel like you've shrunken and fell into Wonderland.
9. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Yes, I love this ride. Yes, it's one of the new rides. Yes, it is a rollercoaster with animatronics. But, the wait time is brutal for this ride. Personally going on Big Thunder Mountain with less of a wait time is pretty much the same experience. I do love tilting the carts back and forth.
8. Pirates of the Caribbean
Iconic. Pirates of the Caribbean was my first ride I ever was on at Disney and it terrified me. But, still that first drop into the world of the Pirates is amazing. I like Disney World's Pirates ride but the one in Disneyland has no competition.
7. Test Track
We have finally passed on from Magic Kingdom into Epcot. Test Track is Disney's fastest ride and it's a scream. Do I miss the old Test Track? I do. But, do I like designing cars that look super ugly? I do, as well.
6. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
We have reached our first of Disney's big three mountains. Big Thunder Mountain, while probably my least favorite of the three, is still an outstanding ride throughout a gold mine back in the old wild west. Definitely one of my favorite rides I've ever been on.
5. Space Mountain
Another ride where the California version is better than the Florida one. Space Mountain is definitely a worthwhile ride no matter how long the wait is. But, it's getting outdated. While Space Mountain will always be a part of Disney's Magic Kingdom, the new Tron ride will take over as the futuristic rollercoaster at Disney World in 2021.
4. Avatar: Flight of Passage
I'm not a huge fan of simulators. If I'd had to choose between a rollercoaster and a simulator, I'd go coaster all day, But, nothing and I mean nothing will make you feel more immersed into a location than this ride. It is a must ride no matter how long the wait is. The only reason why it's four is because I'm more of a rollercoaster person and I love Disney rollercoasters.
3. Expedition Everest
Expedition Everest is my favorite ride in Disney's Animal Kingdom. It features huge drops, going backwards, and extreme speeds. The reason why it's not number one is the yeti. Here's a summary of the situation with the yeti. Disney spent millions of dollars on a yeti animatronic that looked incredibly realistic. It was huge and because of it's weight the mountain couldn't support the yeti. Also the Yeti jammed up easily because of its size. Now it is a frozen state and Disney decided to put flashing lights shooting at it creating the illusion that the yeti is moving. This state is referred to as "Disco Yeti." Besides the yeti situation, the ride is a blast for sure.
2. Aerosmith's Rock 'n' Rollercoaster
Aerosmith is a bit outdated. But, this is the only ride in Disney that is a rollercoaster and you go upside down in. Listening to the music while you're on the ride is incredible and that first jolt when you get to the entrance is exhilarating. But, it isn't my favorite ride at Disney.
1. Splash Mountain
I will fight you on this. Splash Mountain is purely the greatest Disney ride ever. The ride based on Song of the South is perfect for all ages and it's so much fun to get wet in hot Florida. The view at the top of the ride is amazing too. This ride is a MUST and I MEAN MUST when you are at Disney.
