Disney World: An Unforgettable Trip For Every Age

It's called the happiest place on earth for a reason.

Walt Disney once said, “You’re dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up anyway.” He was right by saying this. I never realized how much of a child I still am, until I got the chance to visit Disney World.

My first time to Disney was my senior year of high school and it was amazing. Once I stepped foot into the Magic Kingdom and my eyes set on that castle, a smile never left my face for the rest of my visit.

I had asked my mom why we had never gone to Disney growing up, and she simply said that we never showed interest. Honestly, I’m happy that my first time was when I was 17 years old. Having this experience as a teenager made me appreciate it so much more. I took in every single bit of the magic that was around me during my visit.

I would never discourage a parent from taking their young kids because they feel the joy just as much, and their imaginations are greater than anything when they're little, but don’t stop taking your kids when they start to grow up either. If you’ve never been to Disney, it doesn’t matter how old you are, you are never too old to enjoy the happiest place on earth.

Disney World is not only an amusement park, but it’s a snippet of history that is more important than we know.

Walt Disney was a man with a dream, a man who got shot down repeatedly for not being creative enough. This man who apparently wasn’t creative enough, created the most amazing place in the world. You always hear people saying how expensive it is and how it’s all about making money, but Walt Disney himself said that his parks are works of love, not the idea of making money. Yes, the park admission is fairly expensive, but what the parks hold inside is worth every single penny and more.

The memories you will make at Disney parks are memories you will keep for the rest of your life. Disney teaches kids to believe in things that seem impossible; to strive to be whomever or whatever you want to be. The cast members at every Disney park make everyone who comes in feel welcomed and loved.

Kids, teenagers, adults and many elderly people have giant smiles on their faces right as they step off the buses to go into the parks. I know I was smiling as the man who checked our bags addressed me as "princess," making me feel like a 7-year-old all over again.

Walt Disney wanted to make a place that holds nothing but light, magic and happiness in a world that can be quite dark sometimes. He wanted us all to remember that such a big dream started with just a small mouse and that anything is possible if you believe (and have a little fairy dust, of course).

Walt Disney wants kids to be confident and expressed this with one of his most famous quotes, “The more you like yourself, the less you are like anyone else which makes you unique.” Disney is a place that you can be anyone you want to — no matter how old or young you are.

Disney is truly the most magical, happiest place on earth.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
