I recently visited Walt Disney World in Florida. No matter how many times I go back there and no matter how old I get, Disney always holds some magic that you can’t find anywhere else. There’s no one thing that I can pin down that makes it so special, but the fact is that Disney will always hold a special place in my heart.
The first few times I went to Disney, Magic Kingdom was my favorite park. Seeing the performances at Cinderella’s castle, riding rollercoasters perfect for a younger kid, and meeting the princesses and characters was a dream came true. Even the long lines aren’t too bad.
There are plenty of activities to do while in line, plus you’re so excited that you’re at the Happiest Place on Earth that little can mess with your good mood. Going back to the Magic Kingdom not only fills me with nostalgia but also is still thrilling because of the new attractions that are constantly being added. Plus, when I go back with my younger cousins, I get to see them experience the magic for the first time.
When I got a little older, Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios (then MGM) became my favorites. I’ve always loved animals, and getting to see them and learn all about them was fascinating. Even though it’s the smallest of the parks, Animal Kingdom still has a lot to offer with rides and shows. Eating at the Rainforest Café at the end of the day is always an amazing experience.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to my favorite Disney ride, Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster, as well as the Tower of Terror, another favorite. When I was a kid MGM seemed aimed more towards adults, but I loved the drawing classes and seeing behind the scenes of different movies. Now with the Toy Story ride and other attractions for younger kids, Hollywood Studios is a pretty common favorite.
Once I reached high school, Epcot became my favorite park. I love trying to find a new thing to eat in every country. Seeing the way these countries are depicted through their storefronts, architectural design, and shows is fascinating to me.
Future World in Epcot is also great, encouraging kids to use their imaginations at a young age with Figment. It also instills in them the importance of keeping our planet healthy with The Land and The Seas, while still keeping everything light and entertaining.
From the always cheerful workers to the unique and fun attractions, old and new, Disney World truly earns its title of the Happiest Place on Earth. Even though Walt didn’t live to see the Orlando park open, his drive to share his dream with other people has brought joy to and inspired countless children to pursue their dreams.
