Is Disney+ Really Worth it?

I'll tell you whether or not Disney's new streaming service is really worth it

Is Disney+ Really Worth it?

Spoiler alert: Yes, it's totally worth it!

First of all, I'd be lying if I said that I had not been excited about this service being released for MONTHS. The child inside of me was screaming at the idea of having all of your favorite Disney movies and shows on one streaming service. When the time finally came to purchase the service, I did it almost immediately, and I could not even begin to describe the excitement I felt watching the Disney+ app being downloaded onto my phone. Now after using Disney+ for about two weeks, I can happily tell all of you that for $6.99 a month, this streaming service is so worth it for many reasons.

For starters, They have just about every Disney show and movie that I (and many others) grew up with (with a few exceptions that are missing, but I'm sure they'll be on there eventually). They have pretty much everything from the 1900's classics to the mid 2000's shows that I'd watch everyday after school. I've been having such a blast so far reliving my childhood through these shows and movies, especially some of the movies that I completely forgot about. As a college student, laying in bed after classes and re-watching episodes of Hannah Montana or the Suite Life of Zack and Cody have made my days so much better.

What else makes Disney+ so great? They have so many movies and maybe even shows that you've probably never even seen or even heard of. On my first day of using Disney+, I was literally amazed at how many movies from the past that I had never even heard of. However, I felt that it was awesome that there were now so many new movies and shows that I could watch and experience for the first time. Many of these were considered "classics" back then, and I personally think that it's wonderful of Disney to include them for younger generations to watch as well. Not only has Disney+ given me familiar content, it's also given me new content to enjoy as well!

Speaking of new content, Disney+ has also jumped on the same bandwagon as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. of creating original content for their service. Want to see a live action version of Lady and the Tramp? See a spinoff of High School Musical, aka one of the most iconic DCOM in history? Watch a new Star Wars Series? See how Walt Disney brought Disneyland to life and more? Disney+ is also the place to find new, weekly original content, and they also have some exciting things coming up with their content. I think it's safe to say that many of us; including me, are pumped for the new Lizzie McQuire show coming soon to the service. Disney+ doesn't seem to disappoint when it comes to new content.

I could honestly keep going on and on about how great Disney+ is, but it would not be fair of me to spoil absolutely everything about the service for you. So, if you want a service with Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, National Geographic, and even content from Fox (seriously, you can't go wrong with all 30 seasons of The Simpsons on one service), then I'd totally recommend trying out Disney+ (plus you get a free week trial-great bonus!).

To Disney+ itself, thank you for bringing back a huge part of my childhood into my adult life.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
