Tonight, I turned on the TV to the "13 Nights of Halloween" to watch one of my favorite childhood Halloween movies, "Hocus Pocus." It was great, and I felt like I was 8 years old again. When it was over, all I could think to myself was, “Why aren’t all Halloween movies as awesome as this one?” I remember watching that movie on the Disney Channel along with all the great classic Halloween movies; so if you have forgotten all of your favorite Disney Halloween movies, allow me to take you on a trip down memory lane.
"Halloweentown"
This might have been my first Disney Halloween movie and it was a popular one because they made three more afterwards. Let’s be real though, we all know the first two (maybe three) were the best. Did they really think they could replace Marnie’s main actress and we wouldn’t notice? Come on now Disney.
"Mom’s Got a Date with a Vampire"
What a great movie. Single mom. Two kids. Vampire date. It’s casual.
"Under Wraps"
Because everyone has always wanted a mummy for a friend, right? This movie is cute and it’s funny. It’s a great kid’s Halloween movie.
"Phantom of the Megaplex"
This movie used to creep me out, and maybe gave me a slight fear of walking around movie theaters by myself when I was younger, but it was good. It’s a great movie to ease kids into loving scary movies.
"Hocus Pocus"
The Disney Halloween movie. This movie was made in 1993 and it’s still a hit to this day. That should say enough.
"Tower of Terror"
Based off the Hollywood Studios ride Tower of Terror is far from frightening, but it had a fun plot to it. Five people die in a hotel elevator, and their souls are trapped in the hotel. It’s both cute and entertaining to watch. Plus, it has Kirsten Dunst in it.
"Don’t Look Under the Bed"
This movie scared children everywhere (myself included.) Shoutout to you if you could make it through this movie and not be freaked out for a week afterwards.
"Twitches"
It’s Tia and Tamara Mowry. They were hilarious and this movie was a decent Halloween movie too.
"The Nightmare Before Christmas"
I loved this movie growing up. It was just so different, and I honestly forget it's Disney sometimes. However, it was a good Halloween movie to watch and get into the spirit of Halloween.
If you are trying to get into the spirit while reliving your childhood (and you are in your early 20’s or late teens), then these movies will manage to make you feel old and nostalgic. It’s great. Enjoy.
