8 Disney Movies That Need Sequels Already

The real sequels we want to see.

Lately, Disney has been on a huge remake and sequel kick. Rather than making new movies they've decided to try to bounce off of previous success instead of making entirely new content. Recently, there has been news of a Mary Poppins and an Enchanted sequel in addition to the new Cars 3 movie. While this isn't the worst decision ever, the problem is Disney keeps adding to films we're pretty much tired of seeing. Instead of doing the same things over and over there are a few movies I think we can agree upon that deserve new live-action adaptations or sequels.

1. Hocus Pocus

Obviously, the first movie ended with the Sanderson Sisters death, but some other Halloween legends would make a great movie. If we don't go for a new storyline, to somehow make a comeback, I would be into making a comeback somehow with a new version. Maybe witches familiar with them coming back to steal the souls of children? Just an idea.

2. A Bug's Life

There's been talk for a sequel with this movie since 2012, and yet nothing new has come about. This movie is adorable, and it would be so nice to see another adventure with Flik, Princess Atta, Hopper, and the rest of their bug buddies.

3. Holes

The original movie was done really, and the stories of Stanley and Zero's friendship blossoming was great. Yes, the original did come to an end with the closing of the camp and the mystery is solved, but I think it would be great to have a prequel showing Stanely's grandfather's life. Another idea is that the stories of how the other diggers made their way to the camp get produced.

4. The Proud Family (Sequel or Adaptation)

This show and movie were my everything growing up. The theme song, the jokes, PENNY PROUD!! I loved it all. After the movie, the show and all of it was over, but it would be great to see an animated sequel possibly of Penny Proud in College or, although she's not a princess, a live adaptation. I would give anything to see someone play Deejonay Jones.

5. Chicken Little

The sky is falling! Well, we all know that wasn't the case but an alien who had found his way to the world of young Chicken Little. I would love to see Chicken Little and his friends all grown up with kids and maybe their kids can deal with their invasion.

6. Ratatouille

I need this. I just need to know what happened to Remy and the rest of his family after all the success from his cooking and I think everyone else would enjoy it as well.

7. The Princess and the Frog (Sequel or Adaptation)

This movie was so well done that there are so many directions to go with this franchise. Under the animated umbrella there could be a sequel to follow the life of Tiana and Prince Naveen working in the restaurant or a prequel to show us how Naveen lost all his money in the first place and found his way in Louisana.

Something even greater would be a live adaptation similar to Cinderella or more recently Beauty and the Beast. A live New Orleans bash would be fantastic to watch in theaters if done correctly so. Hopefully, Disney gets to work soon.

8. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Adaptation)

Snow White is one of the few Disney Princesses that has no sequels whatsoever. And it couldn’t have a sequel anyway because the movie ended the way the original story did. In the original ending, the Prince revives Snow White with a kiss; Snow White says goodbye to the Dwarfs, then the Prince takes her to the castle, and the story is over.

I don't think a sequel to this story would work, but the hit television show Once Upon A Time gave an excellent back story to not only Snow but the Evil Queen as well. The show made the story way richer and developed than a young girl looking for love, and I would love for Disney to produce a live action version in either a recreation or prequel to reach that same level.
