Spring semester is in full-swing. As the newness of the semester wears off, we start to have more and more free time. And what's a better way to spend your free time than watching some good old Disney movies? As my roommates and I watched the Hannah Montana movie for the first time since 8th grade, I couldn't help but want to watch every other pre-teen Disney movie there was. Here are some of my favorites!
1. Princess Diares (1&2)
Not a Disney Channel Original movie, but still one of the greats. If we're being honest, we were all super jealous of Mia's transformation. I'm definitely still waiting on that to happen in my life. One of the most iconic lines ever said comes from this movie: "I look like a moose." "Yes, but a very cute moose, make all the boy moose say 'waaaaa.'" We can't forget the original mean girls Lana, Hannah, and Fontana. Ugh I still hate them. The slumber party in the castle was goals. RAVEN SIMONE even made an appearance. Anne Hathaway is a queen in every sense of the word.
2. The Lizzie McGuire Movie
Hillary Duff in this movie is the literal reason we all have unrealistic expectations for any vacation we go on. She's supposedly in 8th grade and meets a hot Italian superstar...? Um, no. If Paolo was to see me in 8th grade, he would have mistaken me for a gremlin, not a pop sensation. Also, her outfits in this movie were iconic. Remember the igloo dress? Wow.
3. The Hannah Montana Movie
Tyra Banks. Rascal Flats. Taylor Swift. Lucas Till. HOW COULD YOU GO WRONG? We were all obsessed with Hannah Montana, and this movie just deepens our love and respect for Miley. Also, I find myself relating to Jackson more and more and saying more and more jokes like Billy Ray as I go throughout life. This is another movie with the best outfits and the best story. Gah, gotta love the best of both worlds.4. High School Musical (all 3)
You know all the songs. You know all the dances. You more than likely had a crush on Troy. That's okay. We've all been there. You can "Bet On It" that watching these movies with your squad will be "A Night to Remember."
5. Camp Rock (1&2)
Celebrities and normal people mingling at a summer camp just for music? UM SIGN ME UP. Joe Jonas' long hair? Maybe not. But seriously, Mitchie was our hero. The underdog who followed her heart and lived out her dreams ended up with the rock star with a mean facade but super sweet heart. ROCK ON.
