If you're among the millennial generation, then there is a good chance that you still probably listen to the Jonas Brothers or the per-bangers Miley Cyrus on certain occasions. You can't disagree that "Year 3000" and "Party In The USA" are still bangers (see what I did there). Heck, you might even whip out old reruns of "The Wizards of Waverly Place" and "Hannah Montana" just for kicks, but you sadly probably don't still watch "Sonny With A Chance" or "JONAS." Disney Channel's Friends For Change song, "Send It On," featured Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and the Jonas Brothers, was one of the greatest music videos that Disney has ever produced. You can try to argue this, but unfortunately you will not win that argument. Here are eight reasons why "Send It On" will forever live on as one of Disney Channel's greatest creations.
1. After being released on August 11, 2009, only on Disney Channel and Radio Disney, this song made its way into top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
If that isn't proof of its credibility, then I don't know what is.
2. Back in 2009, the music video and song were produced to help make a change in the world, specifically for international environment associations.
Well Disney, you did a fantastic job. Phrases such as "one spark starts a fire," and "love is not love until you give it away" just really put you in the mood to help better the environment.
3. Who didn't love the little feud sprawling between Miley and Selena during this time?
Think about it: two of the top Disney Channel stars (don't worry, Demi is in the top 3) singing in the same song while also fighting over the same guy? Legendary. The best part is that Miley was paired with Nick while Selena was paired with the eldest of the Jonas Brothers, Kevin. It looks like Miley won that one.
4. Were Demi and Joe dating during the filming of this music video?
The world will never know, but a younger Disney Channel fan can still dream.
5. It's cheesy, of course, but you can't tell me that you don't get all the feels when you see all the kids running through the green grassy fields while the stars of the video are all fighting for a spot on the tiny couch that is in the middle of who-knows-where.
The scenery is definitely on point.
6. Again, Kevin and Selena is the pairing that will never be understood, but it still makes me giggle each time I think about it.
Poor Selena still got shafted from being paired with Nick. Maybe next decade, Selena
7. Where else can you find all of your favorite Disney Channel stars in one music video?
Nowhere.
8. Not only do Demi, Joe, Nick, Kevin, Miley and Selena all look good together, they also all sound good together, surprisingly enough.
Thank you, Disney Channel for blessing us with their melodies.
