Disney Channel Songs That Are Always Relevant

The "High School Musical" playlist on Pandora is my most used station.

My generation grew up with the best era of Disney Channel that ever was. We had everything from "Even Stevens" all the way to "Wizards of Waverly Place." What's the best part about this era? The songs that came out of it. Here are the top jams that I still listen to all the time, in no particular order.

1. "Bet On It" - "High School Musical 2"

You're lying if you say you've never listened to this when you were stuck trying to make a tough decision. Unless you either listened to "Get'cha Head In The Game" or "Scream."

2. "This Is Me" - "Camp Rock"

Sorelatable, am I right? And when Joe Jonas starts singing "Gotta Find You?" Automatic tears.

3. "Breaking Free" - "High School Musical"

Classic jam right here.

4. "Potential Breakup Song" - Aly & AJ

Summer '07 was lit because of this song.

5. "Hoedown Throwdown" - "Hannah Montana: The Movie"

The new "Cotton Eye Joe."

6. "Year 3000" - Jonas Brothers

"Boy bands, and another one, and another one...and another one." A+ lyrics.

7. "Strut" - "The Cheetah Girls 2"

My go-to song whenever I want to feel fabulous.

8. "Push It To The Limit" - "Jump In!"

My dad still sings this song every now and again, so you know it's a classic.

9. "Everyday" - "High School Musical 2"

I swear this song is going to play at my wedding.

10. "Make Some Noise" - "Hannah Montana"

Hannah Montana understood what it was like to be in middle school and she sang a song to help us all get through the harder times. Also, I wish I knew back then that this gif existed.

11. "What Dreams Are Made Of" - "The Lizzie McGuire Movie"

"Sing to me Paolo!"

12. "Cruisin' for a Bruisin'" - "Teen Beach Movie"

Even though it's technically not part of our era of Disney Channel, I'm not ashamed to admit that I enjoyed "Teen Beach Movie." And this song is a total jam. Shoutout to Lindsey for loving this movie as much as I do.

13. "Nobody's Perfect" - "Hannah Montana"

This song was monumental.

14. "What Time Is It?" - "High School Musical 2"

I'm afraid to graduate college because that'll be the end of listening to this on the last day of school every year.

15. "Cheetah Sisters" - "The Cheetah Girls"

Saved the best for last. A true classic.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
