Because you really need to watch Zac Efron sing "Breaking Free" one more time.

Sure, Disney Channel Original Movies aren't going around the awards circuit or winning any Oscars, but there is just something so pleasant about sitting down and watching them sometimes. When the DCOM mood strikes and you're wondering what movie to sit down and watch, look no further than this list.

1. "Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century"

This movie has it all; amazing costumes, a cool spaceship, and a radical intergalactic pop star with a song that's catchy as hell (I' looking at you, Proto Zoa). In this film, Zenon takes the trip of a lifetime when she leaves her home spaceship and visits Earth and discovers its charms.

2. "Read it and Weep"

This movie is about every teen girl's fantasy; to have their diary accidentally published, have it become a best-selling book, and then have their entire life collapse because of that! This movie also features Jordan Pruitt's hit song, "Outside Looking In," which was a staple sad song for anyone growing up in the 00's.

3. "Halloweentown"

"Halloweentown" is genuinely one of the greatest DCOMs of all time. It has an amazing cast, an interesting storyline, and has major fall vibes. I mean, who didn't want to visit Halloweentown after watching this movie?

4. "Luck of the Irish"

This movie is amazing and absurd in every way. It focuses on a boy who learns about his Irish heritage and then discovers that the family heirloom that he lost was actually keeping him from revealing his true form: a leprechaun.

5. "The Cheetah Girls"

Name a more iconic music group...I'll wait. There is no girl group out there with a stronger presence than The Cheetah Girls. These movies will take you on adventures as you travel with the group to different places and watch them sing their greatest hits.

6. "Go Figure"

'Tis the season for this gem. Once the Olympics end next month and you're sad, sitting around wishing you could watch figure skating or hockey, just put this on and watch a girl struggle to transition from figure skating to hockey.

7. "Cow Belles"

Aly and AJ Michalka shine in this film where two rich sisters learn a lesson about privilege and differences. Fun fact: this movie was inspired by Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie on "The Simple Life".

8. "StarStruck"

This movie focuses on the growing relationship between a regular girl from Michigan and a Hollywood pop star. This movie always makes you want to sing along with "Something About the Sunshine" while watching footage of sunny Los Angeles.

9. "Camp Rock"

I can't think of a more star-studded movie than "Camp Rock". With Demi Lovato, Alyson Stoner, and the JONAS BROTHERS, it's pretty hard to top. This movie never fails to get a room of people to belt along to "This is Me" and make its audience wish they could go somewhere as cool as Camp Rock.

10. "High School Musical"

Camp Rock is great, but it can't top the most iconic Disney Channel Original Movie of them all: "High School Musical"! This movie created some of Hollywood's biggest stars, from Zac Efron to Vanessa Hudgens. Every song in each HSM movie is a major bop that stays in your head for days. If ever you need to watch a DCOM, these are all good place to start.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
