Disney World is a must-see resort on your summer vacation trip to Florida. It has a variety of rides, shows, and parades. It will truly make some magical memories that will last a lifetime. So get planning now and let the good times roll. Only if it were that easy though. Many problems tend to arise when you start to plan this trip, and even as you make it in the parks, you can still run into problems.
Heres a list of potential problems you can run into and some tips to plan around them.
1. The price of admission.
Disney's Monorail System
We all know that Disney prices are absolutely ridiculous and can make a serious dent in your bank account. During the summertime, Disney will jack up their prices even more for admission to all four of their parks. With park tickets reaching as high as $125 per day. Disney does have a ticket option to have you park hop between each park, and for a one day ticket with a park hopper option can be as high as $185 per day.
Disney will lower your price per day you visit. Say if you are visiting 3 days and your ticket has the park hopper option, your cost will be $125 per day. So they try to help you out, with each day you apply to the ticket, the price will decrease by about $20.
2. Prices of the resorts and hotels.
Disney Resorts and Hotels
Disney has some astounding hotels and resorts, but they can be really pricey. Now Disney does have some value resort hotels that can be as low as $112 per night. Which can really help you save some money on your trip, but combining that with ticket admission and other expenses inside and outside the park can really add up.
Disney does offer a combined ticket & hotel package, which you can adjust the amount depending on the number of days that you plan to stay, and offers different ticket options. For people visiting out of the state of Florida, I would plan to get this package just for the flexible ticket and hotel options, and it's the cheapest route to take. Now I make this package sound very inexpensive, but trust me it's not. For just one adult, staying at the cheapest resort for seven days, and adding a five-day ticket with park hopper option, the package price will be $1,185. That means for families the prices can get very expensive very quickly.
3. Park can reach max capacity.Â
Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom
As I had said before a lot of people want to go to Disney World during their summer vacation. So naturally, all four of Disney World parks will be packed to the max. If you get claustrophobic, Disney may be a fearful ride for you. Yes, the park does seem big, but the streets can fill up pretty quick and you may be bumping into people. Shops will be packed, and wait lines will have people breathing down your neck.
I would suggest getting to the park as soon as it opens, and stay till it closes. You will really get to spend your whole day at the park and possibly do some of the bigger things. Another tip would be to jump in a line before the park closes. Like jump into space mountain at 10:45 pm in the park closes at 11:00 pm. You have the possibility of staying in the line for the whole wait and get on the ride, but they can ask you to leave if it is a long wait.
Special events, such as new ride openings or a celebration will be in effect to draw in more guests. Like the new Galaxy Edge at Hollywood Studios, which is projected to open on August 29, 2019. With the recent Disney Star Wars success, it's no surprise that Disney is creating new land for the franchise. Naturally when it opens that park, being Disneys smallest park, will most likely be closed due to max capacity. So if you get caught in that good luck trying to get the full experience.
4. Florida weather can be unpredictable.Â

If there's one thing you need to know about Florida it would be it's very unpredictable weather. Thunderstorms can form in a matter of seconds, and can truly shut down many rides at the parks. Yes shutting down the rides is for your safety, but it stinks when you flew to Florida, spent thousands of dollars on a Disney trip, then it is all ruined just because of a thunderstorm. And don't bother checking any forecast app or channel because those are never accurate. Disney does have a good amount of inside rides. Which tends to run during the storms, but have a tendency of stopping or not working during the storms. Also, some of the lines for the rides have you waiting outside. Which can really stink because you have the possibility of waiting in that one rainy spot for a while. Plan to bring an umbrella or a poncho, because you will need it.
Other then the rain, heat is a big problem in Florida. Temperatures can reach above 100 degrees, which if you don't know, is very hot. Heat exhaustion will come over you and your trip will take a more dramatic turn. The only way to fix this is to drink a lot of water and to wear light clothes. If you sunburn easily bring a hat and sunblock because you will get burned. Do not underestimate the heat because if you do then you will be risking your own health.
Despite its many flaws, Disney World is a fantastic place to visit during the summer. It will take patience and a lot of planning to get the parks but in the end, it will all be worth it. This list compiles some of the major problems you will run into and some ways to avoid them. The most important thing to do is to have fun and make sure you enjoy your time. Get to know and love the experience, because Disney is one that you will never forget.
