8 Times Disney was Right about Life

Disney movies have captured the hearts of people everywhere. Talking animals, singing princesses, handsome princes, evil villains, magic galore. You name it, people are captivated by it.

For me, my favorite part of Disney movies are the quotes - the song lyrics, or things characters say that resonate with your life. And trust me, there is no shortage of Disney quotes. Here are just a few of my favorite ones.

Note - Peter Pan is my favorite Disney movie, but I'm purposely not putting any Peter Pan quotes on here. There are enough Peter Pan quotes for me to write an entire article, which I'll try to do eventually.

1. "Sometimes the right path is not the easiest one." - Grandmother Willow, Pocahontas

Life has its ups and downs; sometimes, it's hard to figure out where to go in life. Especially when the right path seems to be hard. God doesn't promise following Him is easy, but He promises it is worth it.

2. "The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and beautiful of all." - The Emperor, Mulan

No struggle lasts forever. When we accept suffering and persevere, keeping faith, we will not only pull through - we will grow stronger, with a new appreciation of life.

3. "Today is a good day to try." - Quasimodo, Hunchback of Notre Dame

God grants us the opportunity for new beginnings with each new day. Each day is a gift. We're not perfect, but we can strive to make the most out of every day.

4. "Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it." - Rafiki, The Lion King

There's no undoing mistakes from the past. But, because of God's mercy, we can learn from our mistakes and grow as people of faith.

5. "You don't really need someone to complete you. You only need someone to accept you completely." - Rapunzel, Tangled

We are made for relationship with each other. However, it's important to know Whose are - finding our worth and love in God and keeping that as the foundation of any relationship. After all, a relationship is about being with someone who complements you, not someone who completes you. You are your own complete person.

6. "But in my heart's the memory, and there you'll always be." - Widow Tweed, Fox and the Hound

In life, people come and go. But what will never leave is the memories you have of that person.

7. "Where one thing falls, another grows. Maybe not what was there before, but something new and wonderful all the same." - Bambi's Mother, Bambi

Life has different seasons, things end. But with each ending is a new beginning that God has in store for us.

8. "If you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true." - Cinderella, Cinderella

Don't lose hope. Keep the faith. God knows what He's doing. He has an incredible plan for your life, better than anything you could ever imagine or dream of.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
