GOOD BYE. Okay, I am really sad to see my freshman year of college go, but man am I ready for a break. I'm not ready to say goodbye to my friends, but I am ready to say goodbye to the school work.

Dear Freshman year, you have kicked my ass (sorry mom). In high school, they always tell you that college is a lot different than high school, but you never realize that statement is true until you get here. I have had a lot of ups and downs my freshman year. Going from getting my first F on a test to going through 2 not-so-great roommates to the everlasting friendships I have made.

Let's talk about roommates for a second. I had the unfortunate experience of having two roommates that didn't work out. So for you, incoming freshman don't worry about who your roommate is going to be because chances are you'll hate them after living with them for 3 weeks. Don't worry, you will find someone who isn't crazy and is the perfect match for you. It just takes time. My advice is if your roommate is affecting your academics tell your RA because I didn't and all it has caused was stress for the entire year. It is not your fault you can't live with somebody.

Academics are tough. Everyone is at college for a reason and we are all competing and that competition is bigger and harder than you have ever experienced before. Study habits will have to change and you WILL have to have them. I thought 'Oh I didn't have to study in high school, I'll be okay.' Oh honey, you are wrong, very very wrong. That's okay, it takes awhile to adjust to your new schedule.

I have done nothing but find myself at school. I would recommend going away to school to anyone and everyone. You go away and nobody knows you. You have a clean slate. It is one of the best feelings in the world. You finally get to be you. At school, I have done things that I would have never thought in a million years I would do. I mean I'm the Vice President for my Lit Society next semester, like what? I have blossomed as a person and I can't be happier. College is a scary, wonderful experience. You can make it great or you can make it awful. It is all up to you. So I don't know about you, but for me, I am going to make it one hell(sorry mom) of an experience.

So thank you freshman year. You have beat me up, knocked me down, and now you are picking me up. So peace out, for now, IC. See yah next semester.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
