Diners And Dives Of Downtown Raleigh

I'm not Guy Fieri, but I have had my fair share of Raleigh food.

Diners And Dives Of Downtown Raleigh

Chuck’s

One of the best burgers you will have in downtown Raleigh. The atmosphere is friendly and the food is damn good. With their unique combinations that range from adding cream cheese to a burger or adding pork chili to your burger, you can never go wrong. Do not forget to add a milkshake to the end of your meal!

The Big Easy

Walking in from the outside brings you to a completely new environment. Making it seem like you have stepped into New Orleans, the food and restaurant adds to downtown. From fried alligator bites to the best jambalaya and gumbo you will have, everything tastes fresh. The corn bread on the side is a nice treat, too.

MoJoes’s Burger Joint

Right off of Glenwood, MoJoe’s is in that category of “Best Burger.” If you are trying to compete to eat or just have a nice meal, MoJoes should be on your list. Finish The Classic Hall of Fame Burger for your picture on the all or order The Old Raleigh Burger for explosions of tastes. Grab an extra crispy order of their onion rings and fries too, its i definitely worth it.

Cafe Luna

A corner of Italy that is a great bang for your buck. With the smell and fresh ingredients hitting your nose and tastebuds, you are confident any meal ordered will keep you coming back. From when I went for my high school prom to when I go now, the Linguini Fra Diavlo is my choice.

Big Ed’s City Market

If you need a place to go for breakfast, look no further. I have not had a better southern breakfast other than Ed’s. The pancakes fill your plate and your face, the home fries are golden brown and the biscuits are one of a kind. With the nicest staff waiting on you, the experience at Ed’s makes you want to come back more than once a week.

Mitch’s Tavern

Right off Hillsborough Street across from NC State, Mitch’s is a great after school or after work place to relax, recline, and eat. Walking upstairs to a place of movie history gets you hungry. Yes, they did film a scene from Bull Durham here! From their Mexican burrito, to their green friend tomato sandwich or their Italian sandwich (ask for it pressed), Mitch’s has it all.

Sushi Blues Cafe

Buy one gigantic roll, get one gigantic roll free. Do I need to say more? Sushi Blues has to be the best sushi I have had, yes, I will go that far. From the Mark Gottfried Roll, to the Steven Tyler roll, the fish is fresh and the rolls are perfect. Sit outside and enjoy the sites of Glenwood or take a seat inside, either way, you are getting the best.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
