To Those Who Don't Truly Know Their Self-Worth

For those of you who do not truly recognize your self-worth, here's something you can learn. You can learn about dignity. Dignity is our worth and value as human beings and once you can recognize what dignity is and learn about it, you will start realizing more about yourself and what your true self-worth means about you. Once you open yourself up to learn about dignity, you'll get this desire to treat yourself well and to have others treat you well. You want to be loved, treated right, listened to, and to be understood by others. We start to feel liberated and full of hope and everyone deserves to feel this way. I went through a time in my life where I did not find dignity within myself; I did not know how to love myself. But, now I have learned how to love myself thanks to learning about dignity and what dignity really is and I hope you can learn too.

Dignity is: the moment you realize that the person you cared for has nothing to do you with you intellectually or spiritually.

Dignity is: the moment you realize that God has a bigger plan for you than crying at night.

Dignity is: the moment you stop comparing yourself to others because it undermines your worth, education, and your parent’s wisdom.

Dignity is: the moment you live your dreams. Not because of what it will prove or get you, but because that is all you want to do.

Dignity is: the moment you realize no one is your enemy, except yourself.

Dignity is: the moment you realize you can have anything in this entire world that you want. However, it takes timing, the right heart, the right actions, the right passion, and your willingness to risk it all. If it’s not yours it’s because you really don’t want it or need it.

Dignity is: the moment you realize the ghost of your ancestors stood between you and the person you once loved so dearly. They really do not want you messing up the family line with some self centered person who couldn’t take the time of day to take you seriously or acted anything less than honorable.

Dignity is: the moment you realize happiness was never about getting “the one”. They’re simply a helper towards achieving your life missions for yourself and only yourself.

Dignity is: the moment you believe love is not about winning or losing. It’s just a few moments in time, followed by an eternity of situations that will help you grow from.

Dignity is: the moment you realize you were always the right person and only ignorant people walk away from true greatness.

Do not ever let someone else define your self worth and don't ever belittle yourself. You're an amazing human being. You are always loved and understood by others and you should always love and believe in yourself!

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
