Let's say you and your best friends all wanna go Greek; two girls get into a local organization while three get into a national. You rushed together but accepted bids from different groups. Your new member process is going to be time consuming, learning your organization and members takes awhile. Regardless, it's tons of fun and going Greek, in any organization, is something I think everyone should at least try.
Every school has different Greek life and styles, but all throughout I've observed that friendships aren't dependent on letters. The bolds on your shirt don't deter you from other organizations. In fact, some of the best friends I have are apart of separate groups on campus. I have two friends who are in different sororities and they're the best of friends. They rushed together but found their homes with different sororities. One girl was welcomed into Alpha Delta Pi where as the other ran home to Alpha Omicron Pi. The bolds they wore after cross didn't effect how they treated one another and that is how it should be.
"It was actually through recruitment that we became friends. Being in different letters doesn't affect our friendship. We may have different sisters but at the end of the day we're Greek together and above that best friends"
"Even though we are in different sororities I think my relationships between my other friends become a lot closer."
Whether you rush, don't or join an organization other than your friends, the letters that you represent do not control your friendships. Going Greek enhances your life, not control it. Friendship is about love and support. Your fraternity or sorority should not only introduce new relationships with sisters and brother but also expand your friendships with other Greek organizations.
