Flowers and a romantic dinner on Valentine's Day are nice, but sometimes it's fun to do something different. Maybe it's something simple, or something super extravagant that we'd prefer, but it's always fun to do something a little out of the ordinary.
1. Do a good deed together
Maybe there's a charity you both really like or a local soup kitchen you want to volunteer at. Whatever it is, as long as it's something you can do together, why not make Valentine's Day a day to give back while spending the day with your significant other.
2. Have a play date
The more grass stains the better. Find a hill and see who can roll down the fastest. Head to a local playground and spend some time on the swings and slides. Go home and build the biggest fort you can. Do whatever it is that brings out your inner child, just have fun and do it together.
3. Go for a test drive
Sure car rides are cheesy and happen all the time, but why not spruce up an original and take a 'super expensive never be able to afford' car for a test drive? Nobody has to know that you have no intentions of buying it.
4. Have a movie marathon
No, I'm not talking about an ordinary movie night on the couch. Head to your local movie theater and buy a ticket to an early movie. When the movies over, head over to another screening room and refill the popcorn bucket. Nobody needs to know that you don't have a ticket for the second movie... or maybe even the third.
5. Make a time capsule
Commemorate the day with a box full of memories. Each put in a few items that mean something special to you and then agrees on a day to open it back up. You've just made two dates out of one.
