Dieting and college. They don't really sound like they belong together, let alone could be possible. But it is. Dieting has nothing to do with whether or not you are constantly busy, or trying to budget. Dieting is a decision that you make, and you stick to it. Ultimately if you have the motivation, and dedication you will see results and even feel better about yourself. Here are a few tips to help you out.
1. Meal Prep
Seriously meal prep almost everything. Most of us have very busy lives with school, jobs, and homework, the list goes on and on. Meal prepping will allow you have a balanced meal that will provide you with enough energy to get you through the day as well as keep you full. Just because you meal prep does not mean that you're food can't be a good home cooked meal whilst being healthy. Some of my best meals have been prepared ahead of time.
2. 30 Minutes
All you need is 30 minutes out of each day to do some type of physical activity. The results you get will be from the amount of work you put into it. Some days if you aren't feeling a full blown workout, you can walk for 30 minutes at an incline. Believe it or not, walking at an incline can help you tremendously. If you can't afford to go to a gym or even leave your apartment/house/dorm. Google search at home, indoor workouts, you will have endless choices.
3. Moderation
Those free cookies in the quad or at work, take one. Eat it. Enjoy it, but don't over indulge. There is absolutely nothing wrong with treating yourself. Just don't make a habit of it. Remember you are treating yourself, with "treats," so that should be a once in awhile type of thing. Not an everyday affair. The same applies for going out to eat. If the restaurant is known for giving out good sized portions, only eat half. Save the rest for lunch or dinner on one of your busier days.
4. Motivation
Never lose sight of your main goal. You are doing this because you want to better your body. It's okay to miss a couple workout days and to have a few cheat days, but remember not to make it an everyday thing. You are doing this for you, motivate yourself. If that means you have to take something away, and will reward yourself with it once you are done. Do it. You will thank yourself in the long run.
