A Diet That Will Actually Make You Happier

WARNING: This diet may make you more happy even without weight loss.

In this day and age, there are all sorts of diets. Gluten free, low carb, low fat, sugar-free, this and that and everything else.

I've come up with a diet that will, in fact make you more joyful, more patient, and all around a happier person. Follow these steps carefully for successful results.

Stop cutting out carbs and instead, cut out negativity.

It happens all the time: you're in a big group, people start talking, talking about others, and soon it becomes a gossip fest. So, get rid of it. When you get the chance, bring up something else, talk about something positive.

Instead of going fat-free, go hate free.

I'll admit, it's hard to forgive people, ask anyone! But, I challenge you to let go of hate. So much of our lives is spent hating on one another, and it takes so much energy to do so. As the famous musical Frozen says, LET IT GO! I promise if you make a conscious effort to not spend your time hating, you will be happier.

Volunteer your time, instead of going to the gym.

Okay, you can still go to the gym, but take some time to volunteer! This could be as simple as buying a coffee for a homeless person, helping at the humane society, or donating to a food pantry. Making others days will be so rewarding, just you wait!

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
