It’s getting to the end of the fall semester.

If you’re not already done with your classes, you may be thinking: Why didn’t I try enough? What will I tell my parents? What’s going to happen to me? All these thoughts run through your head and it seems like you really messed up this time. Well, here’s why it’s okay that you didn’t pass all of your classes.

Things happen in life and one of them happens to be the dreadful mistake of failing a class. It seems like the worst mistake in the world, and everyone around you may be making you feel like it really is. So, you beat yourself up about it and you wish you could take it all back. Thoughts about building some magical time machine to change your grade run through your head, knowing that if you had another chance, nothing would change. Everyone around you makes you feel like you are less of a person for it or that you didn’t try hard enough when we all know that it wasn’t about not trying hard enough.

We all wish that our parents, friends, and our own heads would take the time to think about when they messed up and had to learn from it because no one is perfect and things happen in life so you can’t make it to a class, you forget to do an assignment, or you couldn’t manage to get that A grade on your final.

So what happened to you this semester? Did you take one too many classes or couldn’t manage classes, work, and everything else in life? Welcome to the club. You might have started off the semester thinking, “This is going to be my year to shine.” Then the year started and you slowly fade off from sticking to studying all night to finally having a night to relax. You crack open a bottle of wine, turn on "Breaking Bad," and fall asleep. Eh, it happens.

Don’t beat yourself up for doing something that the university already has rules on. Now, I’m not saying go ahead and fail the class five more times, but hey, you learned from the last time. So pick up your pieces and try again. Let it go that you failed a class and pass it this semester.

We have a few weeks to click back into our senses for the winter semester. Don’t let anyone tell you that failing is the end of the world, because really, it's not. Let go of all of the distractions next semester, kick some major butt, and make everyone proud.

Always remember the past, but don’t ponder too hard on it because things will happen and you are no less of a person for not doing as well as you wanted.

So here are some things to think about the next time this crosses your mind. It’s not the end of the world that you didn’t pass. Next semester will always be there and life will go on.

So…you didn’t pass all your classes, so what?

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
