Did You Know You Can Call Your State Representative?

After each executive order is passed, my heart sinks a little. With Donald Trump's blatant disregard for the lives of the American people, and not to mention his lack of respect for the environment, it's hard not to feel disheartened after seeing all of his plans for our country. And although I am guilty of this myself, complaining and reposting articles on Facebook and Twitter isn't going to do much of anything.

But, there is a little glimpse of hope that we can all cling to - our state representatives. Despite how helpless we may feel, calling our state representatives can actually cause the change we all want to see. And it's easier than you think.

Go to http://www.house.gov/representatives/, and look up the number and name of your state representative in congress. Once you call, you will either be directed to speak directly with the state representative or a staff member of their office. Make sure you state why you are calling and what issue you are calling about. These representatives were chosen by the people of your state to represent your people. Your call will make a difference, and if enough people from your state call your representative, the issue you are calling about may be changed.

Making a difference is easier than you think, and you can change the country now!

Go and flex those democratic muscles!
