No? Are you kidding? The bombings in the Istanbul Ataturk Airport that killed nearly 50 people and injured upwards of another 200 pedestrians? How have you not heard of the this news story?
When someone does not know what is happening around the world, I cannot help but feel aggravated due to their ignorance to the reality. I digress, however, because the real issue is the atrocities flourishing throughout the world and nothing changes. Boston, Paris, Turkey, New York -- how many more horrific events will it take for a real change to take place? Is it about dirty business? Politics behind countries? Am I not allowed to know why other human lives perish at the hand of our own or other countries?
Movies are watched, books are read, and the news is listened to, but whenever world peace comes around, it is thrown into a joke and taken as a grain of salt. It is frustrating to try and understand why the actions of other people cause death. Excuse me if I sound arrogant/ignorant, but how can we mourn when deep down, we know there will be even more events in the future just as terrible? I apologize for the honesty, but it sounds as if we spend more time mourning rather than trying to prevent.
The Turkish bombings are no short of relentless murder and should be considered as such. Although it already happened, we need to focus on upgrading and improving "something" to stop these kind of crimes to mankind.
Do I have the answer? Maybe. Do I have ideas that may be worth taking into consideration? Most people would say no because of my youth, but without training and education about this kind of cruelty, how can I or my entire generation be taken seriously? The public needs to have a general sense of what is to be done about the occurring and future monstrosities that for sure will happen.
Whether it be at the hands of the Islamic State -- which many were quick to blame due to recent chaotic activity -- or another terrorist organization, or even just a band of evil separatists, the bombings seemed very similar to the explosions in a Brussels airport merely three months earlier. Gunshot victims were also treated due to "sophisticated warfare" that included not only suicide bombers, but also a few people with guns that opened fire on pedestrians within the airport.
I give my condolences to all the people affected by the 280 people directly in contact with the bombing. Together, let us try to figure out a solution to the problem at hand, then work to resolve future events that everyone knows will take place.
