I was not the kid that was against taking naps. In fact, nap time was probably my favorite part of the day. I'm even willing to put it above playground time. It has always been a very important part of my life. Now you hear people saying that they are a "sleep lover" but my feelings for sleep go far beyond such.. I am a sleep enthusiast.

I plan schedules around my sleep schedule.

Don't ask me to go on spare of the moment outings, because truth be told, if I haven't had enough warning, I will put you off just so I can go to bed instead. I require many hours of sleep to function properly. It's rare that I can pull an all nighter.

When I pull all nighters, life is terrible the next couple of days.

I was just recently at a conference with some college friends. I had full intentions of going to bed no later than 10 P.M. Maybe 11 if I was feeling adventurous, but no later. No way, not this girl. Well, guess what happened, I only got a total of 7 hours of sleep that whole weekend. SEVEN! Not cool. I was dreary and barely making it. Luckily I had lots of things going on at the conference that kept me going... until I got home.

You see, had it not been for the two other girls riding in my car, it's highly possible I would've knocked out on the way home. Highly possible! I was dreading the one hour and thirty five minute drive back to my house. When I got home I laid down and took what I intended to be a nap, which actually turned into a 14 hour rest.... *oops*. However this leads me to my next point

Naps are life. Embrace them.

I don't understand people that don't enjoy naps. It's practically a daily ritual for me. Before I got super busy with this thing called life and school and work, it felt like all I did was nap! Every day I'd come home from school, I'd nap at least a few hours, and I'd still sleep well that night. Ooh, and Sunday after church naps? If I have nothing else to praise God for on my Sunday, I at least have that. Those naps are seriously an unexplainable blessing!

I'm also that weirdo at college that has NO shame about sleeping in my car. Back when I drove an SUV, I kept a pillow and sleeping bag in my car at all times just so I could sleep between classes. I can nap just about anywhere, at any time, in any conditions.

I'm the type of friend that will totally call you up, just to plan a nap session, and I'm totally okay with that.

I honestly rather be sleeping right now than doing anything else. That's how us sleep enthusiast feel about 97% of the time. #SleepIsLife

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
