A DIARY HELPED CONVICT A WOMAN FOR THE DEATH OF HER 8 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER

A GRANDMOTHER WAS FOUND GUILTY FOR THE DEATH OF HER 8 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER WITH THE HELP OF A DIARY.

Persecutors had refer to the entries that Gizzell Ford, of Illinois, made in her diary to prove that her father, Andre Ford, and her grandmother, Helen Ford, had been physically abusing her up until her death in 2013.

Gizelle was denied food and water, was tied to a bedpost for a week at a time and was severely punished when she was caught trying to take a sip from the toilet.

Judge Evelyn Clay said “there was exceeding overwhelming evidence” Gizzell’s grandmother, Helen Ford, “murdered her grandchild,” according to BET.

Ford’s first couple of entries seemed okay at first, with one that wrote

“I hope that I don’t mess up today because I really want to be able to just sit down, watch T.V., talk and play with everybody. I am going to be great all day.

Love,

G.F.

I am going to be a beautiful smart and good young lady. I can do anything I put my … smart mind to. People say I’m smart and courageous and beautiful, the same source noted.

Authorities noticed as a change in her writing that evoked that something was wrong.

In the next page, the Illinois native wrote “Not true, I failed,” after initially writing that she was going to be great all day.

In what had been her very last entry dated back to July 11, she wrote “I hate this life because now I’m in super big trouble,” she wrote while two of her cousins were at summer camp.

TWO DAYS LATER, SHE WAS HORRIFICALLY BEATEN TO DEATH BY THE HANDS OF HER GRANDMOTHER.

Authorities broke down in tears as they looked at photos of Gizzell during the trial procedural at Cook County Court.

“I’m sorry, this never happens,” Officer Nancy DeCook said according to BET.

The 8 year old’s mother, Sandra Mercado was trying to gain back custody of her daughter, who was placed in the home of Gazelle’s father for an unspecified reason by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

Chicago Tribune reported that her father passed away in jail as he was awaiting trial in 2014.

Gizelle’s mother, Sandra Mercado, has now filed a lawsuit against the state expressing her anger over the death of her daughter, which she believe could’ve have been prevented had the DCFS caseworker who had visited the home that Gizelle resided in, had not ignored the obvious signs of abuse.

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
