Dewey Beach has an endless amount of reasons why it holds a special place in all of our hearts. From the long nights of partying to the relaxing beach days on one of the nicest beaches in America, here are the four bars you MUST visit the next time you're in town according to a Dewey Beach Local.
1. The Starboard
Known for its AMAZING Bloody Mary bar, this long-standing bar & restaurant has to be your first stop on your Dewey bar crawl. They don't care what your age is (as long as you're legal), the Board is one of the most age diverse bars you'll step foot into. With great bartenders and an even better atmosphere the Starboard is the place to be any day of the week.
2. The Bottle & Cork
The only two words that are more important than "I do" is Jam Sesh. At 5 o'clock every Saturday a raid horn will sound. This is a cheap, friendly, cash-only, frat house styled dive bar. Live cover bands and an entertaining mix of college co-eds and oldies.
3. Ivy-North Beach
This is a mini Seacrets...minus peeing in the waters. This is the touristy spot on your crawl. This dance club styled bar features live bands or DJs all night long with a rave attached to it called Ivy. The drinks are crazy expensive and the service isn't that great, but the loads of people every night that beg to differ. Don't be an amateur and wear wedges there.
4. The Rusty Rudder
This is very similar to North Beach because it's on the water and its young age group. They charge a cover, which kind of sucks, but it is so worth it if Go Go Gadget is playing! It is considered the "far" side of Dewey because of its distance from the Starboard. If you start your night at the Rudder you will ALWAYS end it at the Starboard.
