Devotions are great tools for Christians. I love them! Recently, I have started collecting them in all different formats. I have found that I have some that I love for when I have time sit and spend thirty minutes with my Bible and the book, and others that I enjoy reading while waiting in line at the gas station.

Shereadstruth.com

A free resource that is perfect for women! I love following She Reads Truth reading plans. They are heavy in Bible verses and you will often spend more time reading the Bible than the devotion. Which makes this a great choice if you want to start reading your Bible more. You can also buy the scriptures in a beautiful book format.

Proverbs 31 Women (online and book format.)

Another great devotional site. This one is great for quick devotionals. You can use it on your phone or download their app for free access to daily devotions. I also love their paper form devos.

New Morning Mercies by Paul David Trip

This one of my favorites, in-fact it is currently sitting beside me right now. But be warned, Trip will step on your toes with each devotional. It is a length devotional also, but it is worth it. It full of God's word and honesty.

Foundations by Robert Gallaty

This one is made especially for the busy believer. It has a lot of offer and it meant to last roughly a year of daily reading.

Embraced by Lysa Terkerust

Lysa Terkerust is a huge name in Christian living books and for good reason. Her devotion is not only beautiful but filled with God's truths.

Dear College Girl Devotional

I have read this one over and over in college. It deals with so many everyday struggles of being in college. Everything from grades to the fear of not having the college experience you dreamed of. Available for purchase here.

Morning and Evening by Charles Spurgeon

This is a classic. If you want to dive into something that many Christians have found helpful and can vouch for, this is a perfect choice. Morning and Evening is perfect for the Christian wanting to grow into maturity in their relationship with God.

No matter what devotion you choose, if it is centered in God's word it will be a great choice. Also, for other ideas check out Amazon's top sellers in the Christian book section. Often devotionals find their way on to the list.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
