A few days ago a trailer dropped for Detective Pikachu, which by many die-hard fans is an insult to the franchise. Despite all this, the trailer is a must-see because who doesn't like the profanity-laced Ryan Reynolds portraying a cute little creature for kids. It is amusing to see the voice of Deadpool in a little innocent yellow creature who can electrocute you in a minute.
Due to its rating, no graphic killing by Pikachu will happen. Sorry Deadpool fans, Ryan Reynolds will not be killing anyone in this role, unless there is a dramatic cliff-hanger scene between him and the antagonist in which the antagonist dramatically falls to their death.
Compared to his other roles including the Deadpool Franchise (RIP Stan Lee), The Proposal, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The Amityville Horror, and the failed Green Lantern Franchise. Detective Pikachu is a unique role since his roles are not for children's eyes. If the producers are smart, they will incorporate his humor side into the role and not shove him to the side in the movie. I understand that the storyline needs to be focused on Justice Smith (who is a great uprising actor in the film industry and his role in Every Day is my favorite), but don't put Pikachu in the corner.
I'm will be guessing that in 2019 the Pikachu Plushie at Build-A-Bear will be sold out for months because of the movie, because again who doesn't like Ryan Reynolds and I know some plushies will have his voice in it.
Honestly, I'll be seeing the movie because I'm a die-hard Pokemon fan, and I am one of the few that plays Pokemon Go in 2018. I'll be expecting a great movie, and I know Ryan Reynolds will knock it out of the park.
