Hacksaw Ridge is a wonderful movie on an American hero who enters World War II without a weapon to protect himself. It stars Andrew Garfield as the veteran Desmond Doss. Desmond Doss is my new favorite veteran because of this and for his belief in God. His faith in God allows him to do such incredible things such as saving 75 other veterans including two Japanese. Finding out about Desmond Doss and this movie was important to me as I was never quite clear of why soldiers entered the battlefield. I also wanted to understand why a man would enter without being about to protect himself. What I learned was not that it was bravery that sends you into the battlefield, but hope. Desmond loved and hoped in his faith in God to lead him through it all. His hope was what made him able to save 75 men. It is definitely a movie to go see! Along with this, you see his commitment of love to his wife. She was the only one he ever laid his eyes on. Desmond Doss is a true American hero who did anything to make sure that his commitment to God was seen and respected. This movie is important to those to see as it shows just what a true, honest, loving person is.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
