Every girl dreams of her wedding day. As a child you play with your dolls, envisioning the big day. Then as you grow older you begin to fantasize, what will he look like, how will his last name fit with yours, and what will forever be.
But sometimes as we grow older, we begin growing more and more realistic. We start challenging whether or not that day will ever come, and if HE truly exists. Some of us begin allowing the doubt to change into negativity. Saying, "forget it, I'll never be married." Attending weddings of our friends, and our family, watching them say "I do," as we tell ourselves, "I won't."
Maybe you've let go of the fantasy, and forgotten the fairytale. There's nothing wrong with that because sometimes that's apart of growing up.
Maybe you've gotten older and have started purchasing various species of cats.
Maybe you're in school watching all of your friends get engaged.
Or maybe you're just tired of being disappointed.
But the thing is, there's something about that moment, the moment your future is secured, and the ring is on your finger. The moment your bridesmaids are getting ready, and your mom is buttoning up your dress. That is a moment every girl deserves. Because that moment says, "love truly does exist." And this is your day.
It's not just about the fact that you planned this day, set up all the decorations, and invited all the people, or that you're surrounded by your friends and family.
It's the fact that today says, "I love you."
And "I choose you."
This is the moment you get to relish in for the rest of your life. Every girl deserves this kind of moment because every girl deserves to be told, "you're special, and you deserve a day like this." Maybe you want it so bad, or you've pushed it aside altogether. But know, that you're worthy of it.
Know that you deserve to have your family, and friends surround you with love. To shower you with gifts, and spend an outrageous amount of money on you. That you deserve a guy to get down on his knee and ask you the most important question anyone could ask you.
Of course, the wedding itself is so special, and the planning is important. Walking down the aisle to greet the love of your life, and enjoying your first dance is all something we dream of or have been told of. But that moment, that moment you're sitting in your dress with all your girlfriends by you. Your mom getting emotional, and your dad coming in to see you before walking you into the church.
All of it is so special and so incredible.
Having that kind of moment, pausing and relishing in the fact that in a few hours, or minutes you'll become someone's love, forever. You'll change your last name, add a ring to your finger, cut a cake, and drive off to a new life.
Every girl deserves that, every girl deserves that moment.
