Denzel Curry: Not Afraid Of The Dark

South Florida rapper Denzel Curry has released another music video for "Black Balloons", the second song on his 2018 album "TA1300". Serving as a prequel to his viral video "Clout Cobain", the video is sure to make another success in the artist's career.

Denzel Curry: Not Afraid Of The Dark

If you read my recent article recalling the best albums of 2018, you already know that I have nothing but high praise for Denzel Curry. He is a talent that flew under the radar until his 2014 smash hit "Ultimate" that gained viral status and acclaim among social media users that basically confined his name to meme fame. He continued to release singles and projects until his announcement that he was creating something special on Twitter.

This special project came to be "Ta1300", a 13 track look into the drawbacks of fame, drugs, mental health, and the typical clout-chasing rapper lifestyle that many assumed Curry was a part of. It is on a very narrow borderline of intelligent and playful that many artists can't achieve without seeming corny or amateurish.

His first music video accompanying the album was for "Clout Cobain", a song about the feeling of confining yourself to looking like a clown when you chase money and attention. The video depicts Curry in this way with full face makeup and performingg for crowds that laugh at him.

The video for "Black Balloons" somewhat feels like a Robert Rodriguez movie. Rodriguez directed the first three "Spy Kids" movies as well as "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D". The combination of laughable yet ironic graphics and cheesy backgrounds feels surreal as we see Curry being enticed to sign a recording contract in front of a burning Hollywood backdrop that has a "Taboo" sign on the horizon.

Curry continues on by being offered cocaine and women as compensation with the white powder and black lipstick coating his face in clown makeup. The path he journeys down in the video's duration leads to the primary shots of "Clout Cobain". Curry has now created a video for a song from all three acts of his album with the "Light" side being "Black Balloons", the "Grey" side being "Clout Cobain" and his video for "Vengeance" rounding out the "Dark" side, finishing a trilogy of continued storyline.

Curry seems to have no intention of slowing down his music production, releasing a single titled "Aloha", an obvious throw away that fans can turn their brain off and enjoy. Watch for Denzel to make big waves in the rap game very soon.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
