Demeaning And Degrading: Donald Trump’s Outrageous Introduction As President Of The United States

Disclaimer: The statements made in the following article entail my own personal opinion about the current status of the presidential race and in no way serves as an intention to disregard, disparage, or discredit any of the presidential campaigns, especially that of Mr. Donald Trump, and their supporters.

It is difficult to comprehend the full extent of the presidential campaigns, but to put it in simpler terms, it is analogous to a ship on rocky waters— those in control keep yelling random orders to the passengers, yet the passengers are too disoriented by their own seasickness to realize the chaos they are surrounded by. As U.S. citizens, we are all passengers on this ship, hoping that the captain and crew members will assume their position as leaders and guide us to safety. Still, what happens when our crew is unable to cooperate and their only form of defense is banter and mockery? Exactly. We are left vulnerable, almost as if we are being abandoned on purpose. However, even in the most tumultuous of times, our nation has never left its’ citizens without hope, and it definitely will not start now. Disheartened? Sure, we may be. Destroyed? Never, because America will always stand as one.

From an infant nation to the world power it is today, the United States of America has rapidly progressed and demonstrated significant strength throughout its’ growth. However, without a journey of downfalls and uprisings, our nation would have never been able to seek prosperity from the two most esteemed value—democracy and independence. Our foundation is built upon it. Our flag represents it. Our citizens express it and luckily, have the right to express it.

Therefore, when choosing a president, we must choose an individual that is capable of not only acknowledging our democracy, but also acting as the physical embodiment of those democratic qualities. Unfortunately, from my perspective, this is the complete opposite of Mr. Donald Trump. His words are full of prejudice and as an ethnically-mixed young woman, I am outraged by his predilection to discriminate others. Our society is constructed as a “melting pot,” and whether a person is an immigrant or an American citizen, our land treats people with something we have fought for from instant our nation was established—equality. For a man that has a wife, who was once an immigrant and only recently gained citizenship, it is truly sad to see his lack of respect and recognition for those of diverse ethnicities, religions, and cultures. This is not the type of leader our nation deserves nor is this the type of leader who is deserving of our nations’ admiration. His supporters may defend him, stating that most citizens misinterpret his claims. Well Mr. Trump, in that case, you should rephrase your words and then, maybe I will reconsider my opinion.

As the nation has progressed, rather successfully, more problems have emerged that require complex solutions, which should be confronted with dignity and composure. Our nation has modernized and industrialized in a controlled manner, making it highly critical that our government and justice system do just the same. Our presidential leader must show bravery when our nation is filled with fear and superiority when we feel weakness. Our presidential leader must offer friendship when the air is filled with tension and support when our allies suffer from discouragement. Our presidential leader must provide equality to those deprived and last but not least, liberty and justice for all. Our president is an individual of many roles and words, not insults and tantrums. Sorry Mr. Trump, immaturity and impatience is a no-no in this society ! It may be hard for you to hear; however, when something does not go your way, there is a better resolution than stomping your feet and pointing your finger at an opponent, while ridiculing their appearance. It is okay to forget you are not a six-year old and if in the unfortunate circumstance you have forgotten your age, I can notify you that the best way to fix a problem is with compromise and self-control, like a President of the United States should.

This presidential race is one of which has aroused much controversy among our citizens, especially since the moment Donald Trump announced his campaign. We all know him as the billionaire businessman he advocates himself to be and I must admit, he is exceptionally smart in what he does. He is clever in his investments and manipulative in his profit, which is exactly how he maintains his reputation. He may have been spoiled to receive a “small loan of a million dollars” from his father, yet anyone can receive a large amount of money, but there are only a few that can turn that money into an empire of money-making industries. So Mr. Trump, you may not be exactly what I consider “presidential material,” but I appreciate the attempt and congratulate you on all your success!

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
