In November, Delta Gamma Eta Phi at NYU hosted an art show on campus in support of One Student, a non-profit organization working to engage students in creating social changes to reduce sexual violence. Members of Delta Gamma created thought provoking visual and performance pieces to start the discussion on how we can make our college campuses safer.
Mission Statement: "OneStudent provides students and their allies with programs, resources, and opportunities to address sexual violence."
The night began with Delta Gamma member, Ydelsie Vasqeuz singing "Dreamer". The original composition moved the room with emotion. Following Vasquez, a representative from One Student gave a talk on the importance of championing the movement to bring social awareness to sexual assault on college campuses. Nearly 1 in 5 students experience sexual assault on a college campus, but even one incident of sexual assault is one too many.
Thank you to Delta Gamma at NYU continuing to bring awareness to this issue, and thank you to One Student for continuing to engage students and fight sexual assault until there are no more victims.
