Eight Reasons Why Country Concerts Are The Best Concerts

There's nothing better than starting to drink at noon for a 7 p.m. concert with Toby Keith bumping on the radio. Tailgating, corn hole, beer and country music are the perfect combination for a great weekend.

Here are eight reasons country concerts are the best concerts.

1. The people

No matter who you talk to, everyone is welcoming. People at country concerts are the best kind of people you will ever meet. They share their beer, they play corn hole with you, and they grill for you. Young, old, cowboys or hicks, they'll welcome you with open arms and crack a cold one while listening to some George Strait.

2. The tailgates

Nothing beats getting to the parking lot before it's even opened to begin drinking for a 7 p.m. concert. Day drinking is, and will always be, the most fun. You can relax, enjoy the sun and have a cold Bud Light. Cause there ain't no party like the pre-party, and after the party the after-party at the parking lot party. Am I right?!

3. The music

While some people claim to despise country music, it's the best kind of music in the world. There's a song for any kind of mood you're in, songs about heartbreak, drinking, losing the girl, getting the girl, having a good time and even tractors. Country must be countrywide.

4. The beer

It isn't a proper tailgate without the booze. Whether you're drinking a bud light, PBR or even a Natty, nothing gets a country concert going more than an ice cold beer on a hot summer day.

5. The games

Besides the beer, the best thing about tailgating is the games that come along with it. Playing corn hole, hillbilly golf, beer pong, beer ball, Irish poker, kan jam, and flip cup with strangers who are now your new best friends is the most fun you'll have before you go into the concert

6. The cowboys

There is nothing sexier than a tan weathered man who looks like he's been working on the farm all day in his cowboy boots and jeans with that super sweet country boy smile. They're the nicest boys you'll ever meet and they won't break your heart.

7. The outfits

When attending a country concert you must be dressed for the occasion. Sporting red, white, and blue, or camo is a must. And if you haven't already purchased a Jack Daniels tee I suggest you do so now. Cowboy boots are essential.

8. America

No one does America better than Toby Keith. Country music makes you proud to be an American and gets your patriotism going. When you hear "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" you can't help but feel proud, and you may even consider getting Semper Fi tattooed on your left arm.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…
