A Definitive Ranking Of Jessica Day's Boyfriends

Who's that girl... even dating?

A Definitive Ranking Of Jessica Day's Boyfriends

Jessica Day dated a lot of, mainly brunette, men on the hit TV show New Girl. With a new season currently airing, my co-workers and I heavily debated which of these New Girl's guys we liked the best, and thought was the best for Jess. Opinions flew and things got a little heated: Russel was mature, but Nick was funny. Who can forget the ever so attractive Ryan, or the come back kid Sam? Since I always have to have the last word, I decided to settle this argument with a definitive ranking of (who I think are) Jess's best boyfriends.

7. Gavin

Otherwise known as Mr. Schmidt, I wanted to put Gavin in here because if not for the gross factor of him being Schmidt's father, I think him and Jess could have been a good couple. He was goofy and charming in the same nature of Jessica's usual prospects, and he has an abundance of pink wine (her favorite).

6. Spencer

We all hated Spencer because he broke Jess's heart and tried to keep her stuff. But without Spencer, the Loft would not have bonded over Jess demanding her stuff back. Plus the stories she sobbingly told of their relationship sounded, if not odd, really fun.

5. Robby

I know that Jess and Robby haven't dated, but it sure seems like the show is heading in this direction. I don't fancy the idea of Jess and Robby together because 1) he was in love with CeCe, and 2) HE WAS IN LOVE WITH CECE. You just don't have romantic feelings for your bestfriend's ex, no matter how good you sound dueting on Toto's "Africa."

4. Paul

Paul was funny, Paul was sweet, Paul was just like Jess...but honestly, Paul also creeped me out. He ranks low because he ended up marrying an Asian version of Jess and becoming a party clown, but we still love him for his ability to make anything a musical.

3. Russel

I loved Fancyman Russel. He was older, wiser, a father, and charming-- the rock to Jess's whimsical hot air balloon. If not for his relationship with Jess being the first time he tried to date again, I think these two really could have had something. Not to mention he's a silver fox, and liked Jess for all of her quirks.

2. Sam

You know what they say, love isn't about feeling it's about timing. Sam and Jess really could have had it all: he is a pediatric doctor, she is a teacher, they're both funny. Sam is one of Jess's only boyfriends who seemed to have his life completely together, and I wish they could have made it work. I mean come on, he sang Selena Gomez in his truck! Sadly, Sam basically leaves Jess twice due to...

1. Nick

Nick Miller. An old man with a 'youth's' thought process, he and Jess have a complicated history. I'm a big hopeless romantic though, and even though I kind of (shamefully) like his and Regan's relationship, I'm ultimately rooting for Jessica and Nick to get back together. I mean they both think that someone got that sex mug out of the trash, so there's totally romantic tension left over. Plus Nick's novel is finished and he's proving how "adult" he can actually be! He's finally ready for you, Jess!

The 5 Painfully True Stages Of Camping Out At The Library

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.
