Over the course of Friends 10 year run, they aired six Christmas episodes. Some were better than others...
Here is the list:
6. The One with the Girl from Poughkeepsie:
Ross tries to date “the perfect girl” who happens to live an hour away in Poughkeepsie. He ends up falling asleep on the train and chasing after a girl who lives in Nova Scotia. Such a Ross move.
Meanwhile, Monica hires Joey at her restaurant so she can fire him so her employees respect her. There’s not a whole lot of Christmas cheer in this episode, which earns it its spot at number eight.
5. The One with Christmas in Tulsa:
This episode was just weird. It was the last of the Christmas episodes for the series and was essentially a series of flashbacks as we watched Monica and the rest of the friends be sad as Chandler was stuck in Tulsa for Christmas. It did have a nice ending, in which Chandler finally got the courage to leave the job he hates and start his own life for real.
4. The One with the Inappropriate Sister:
The majority of the episode’s plot revolved around Rachel dating a guy who is overly affectionate with his sister. At the end, she finds them taking a bath together. Gross.
3. The One with the Creepy Holiday Card:
Usually, Ross is the one to move WAY too fast in the relationship. In this episode, he has the tables turned on him when his girlfriend of a few months decides they should send out a joint holiday card. Ross hates it, they break up; but at least he didn’t get married in this one.
2. The One with the Holiday Armadillo:
In one of Ross’s son Ben’s final appearances, Ross tries to teach him about Hanukkah. He fails in finding a fun character to teach Ben about Hanukkah with and instead dresses up as The Holiday Armadillo, Joey and Chandler float in dressed as Santa and Superman to spread the holiday spirit in one of the most hilarious and heartwarming episodes of the series.
1. The One with the Routine:
Any episode with Ross and Monica’s bizarre sibling relationship at the forefront is sure to be a winner.
In this episode, they reveal their OBSESSION with Dick Clark’s New Years Rocking Eve as they get invited to be some of the extras for the dancing at (fake) midnight.
As Ross and Monica perform their routine from a brother-sister talent show they competed in in middle school, Rachel, Phoebe and Chandler tear apart the apartment looking for their gifts from Monica. The episode ends with Ross attempting to jump into Monica’s arms and catapulting through the doorway.
