If there’s ever a time or place to perfect the art of snacking, it’s college. What you munch on is absolutely crucial; it can make or break your study sessions, it can turn a boring movie night into a memorable gathering, and it can make a terrible day instantly better. Here’s a list of the top snacks that are favorites among college students.

Popcorn

Whether you eat it piece by piece or shove entire handfuls into your mouth at once, popcorn is best served with friends and a quotable chick flick.

Pizza Rolls

Let’s face it: pizza delivery is expensive. To avoid breaking your bank account even more, Pizza Rolls are a go-to item. Just be careful—let them cool before eating, unless you enjoy scorching your entire mouth.

Granola Bars

If there was a multitasking award for snacks, granola bars would win. Every college student needs a box of these bad boys at all times. They are perfect for taking along with you in between classes, and they also make a quick, on-the-go breakfast.

Queso

To get your warm, cheesy fix when hanging out with friends, chips and queso are the perfect snack. I suggest portioning a reasonable amount into a bowl to avoid eating the entire jar, unless you just spent 8 hours studying for that Calculus test…then you deserve the entire jar for yourself.

Fruit snacks

Just because you’re in college doesn’t mean you can’t eat like a five-year-old.

Mac and Cheese

These little microwaveable cups are perfect when you don’t have a kitchen to work with. They make it easy for you; just fill it up with water, zap it in the microwave, stir in the cheese mix, and dig in.

Trail Mix

For all you health nuts out there (pun intended), trail mix is the snack for you. The combination of nuts, fruit, and chocolate provide the perfect combination of sweet and salty for a study break.

Nutella

Dip pretzels in it. Slap some on a piece of toast. Or just eat it by the spoonful. Whatever way you enjoy the chocolate and hazelnut deliciousness, you can’t go wrong.

Chips and Salsa

Behold: the holy grail of all college snacks. What is it about chips and salsa that makes every college student swoon? Maybe it’s the addicting crunch of the tortilla chips. Maybe it’s the cold zing of the salsa. Or maybe, it’s the fact that when you combine the two, heaven erupts with singing angels. For all of these reasons and more, chips and salsa rightfully deserve their spot at the top of the snacking list.

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.

I am without a doubt one of those people who refuses to start decorating for Christmas or listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving has become an underrated holiday over the years. You barely see any Thanksgiving decorations in stores; it's like they skip right from Halloween to Christmas.
