The Definite Way To Win Concert Tickets

If at first you don't succeed, try try again.

This is one topic I know about very VERY well.

I've won tickets, meet and greets, private concert invites, tickets to jump around with celebrities on trampolines, I've even been able to dance on stage with bands, and I haven't paid a single penny for any of it. I've won it all, but it wasn't easy. I always get asked the same things; "how do you do it?" "do you cheat?" "are you lying?", and I'm here now to answer those questions once and for all.

1. Know who is coming to your city and when.

The first thing you must do if you want to meet or see a celebrity is to find out when they're going to be near you. You can't win the chance to see someone in concert if the last time they were in your city was more than 7 years ago.

2. Find out which mediums are giving away opportunities to see that person.

This is the start to your path of winning success. Radio stations, news stations, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, websites, car dealerships near you, phone stores near you, sometimes even the artist themselves, and many more places. You'd be surprised at all of the different chances you have. I've had most of my personal success through radio stations.

3. Tune into your inner 'stalker'.

Once you have targeted where you are going to win from you must map out all of the chances you have. Call the radio stations and ask how many pairs they're giving away and when, set alarms for those times. Go on twitter and turn on that celebrities tweets so you'll never miss any updates. Do anything and everything you can to stay one step ahead of everyone else who is also trying to win.

4. Jam the lines.

It is in no way "cheating" to use more than one phone, and that is ultimately the way to win. Had I not used every phone I could have possibly gotten my hands on I probably would not have won as much as I have. Call and call and call. Never stop calling. If your phone rings don't ever hangup until it stops ringing. With giveaway contests, you never know who could be the winner so don't ever give up.

5. Be prepared to do some crazy things.

I once convinced my dad to go onto live radio and sing Justin Bieber's "Baby" in attempt to win. My first time ever winning tickets was by answering the question "What do 30% of men admit to doing at work?" To which after debating with my dad he came up with the winning answer of "masturbating", I was 12 years old talking about masturbating on the radio for concert tickets. I have won several times by playing a game called "What's in Taters pants?" I have played musical chairs with over 50 people in the middle of the mall for meet and greets. Long story short, they aren't just going to give you the tickets, you have to work for them.

6. Be dedicated to winning.

Last year when my favorite artist Hoodie Allen came to my Detroit I was absolutely determined to meet him. When he tweeted that the first person in line would get free tickets and meet and greets I knew it had to be me. After buying pepper spray to calm down my mom, I waited more than 17 hours, in 19 degree weather, in downtown Detroit just to be first. As long as you set your mind to it and do whatever has to be done you will end up winning.

As long as you follow those rules and never ever give up you are almost guaranteed a spot in the crowd of your favorite artist, band, or sporting event. Good luck!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
