The Office gave us some of T.V.'s most amazing moments. It gave us unrealistic expectations of workplace relationships. It gave us impractical ideas about the humor level of most bosses. But mostly, it gave us some of the best couples on television. Here's a definitive ranking of all the main couples on The Office.
12. Jan Levenson and Michael Scott
Yeah this couple was pretty much the worst. Jan was manipulating and controlling, and their fight during their dinner party was one of the most uncomfortable moments on the show to watch. And Jan was the woman that made Michael get three vasectomies. SNIP SNAP SNIP SNAP.
11. Erin Hannon and Gabe Lewis
I hate to put Erin so close to the bottom of the list, simply because I love her and her sheer adorableness. But as much as I love Erin, I hate Gabe. He just really bugged me, and everything about him was boring. And I was still holding out for Andy and Erin (which I'll get to later). So, for that reason, Erin and Gabe earn themselves the eleventh spot on this list.
10. Angela Martin and Robert Lipton
Ahhhhh, "The Senator". This relationship ended because Robert was gay, but not before the couple got married and Angela had a baby. But this couple takes the tenth spot on the list mostly because Robert just seemed so irrelevant. Moving on.
9. Pam Beesly and Roy Anderson
You may assume I put this couple here simply because Roy wasn't Jim. Well, you would be mostly right. But, in general, Roy was just a crappy character. He didn't support Pam's art, he wasn't a great boyfriend, and the two just weren't right for each other. But mostly he wasn't Jim.
8. Jim Halpert and Karen Filippelli
Just like Roy wasn't Jim, Karen wasn't Pam. Enough said.
7. Angela Martin and Andy Bernard
This was an odd couple, but, for some reason, I liked it. Andy really did try his best to make Angela happy, but, in the end, they were just better with other people.
6. Phyllis and Bob Vance
These two brought together two very important businesses in the Scranton Business Park. Their wedding was cute, and they genuinely loved each other.
5. Kelly Kapoor and Ryan Howard
This couple worked because they were both kind of crazy, but their level of crazy matched, and I loved it. And the fact that the actors are best friends in real life made their performances so much more real and genuine.
4. Andy Bernard and Erin Hannon
Still upset that this couple didn't end up together. *Sigh*. The beginning of their relationship was so sweet and innocent, and it gave us some great moments on the show. Remember when Andy literally gave Erin the 12 Days Of Christmas for Secret Santa? SO. FREAKING. CUTE.
3. Angela Martin and Dwight Schrute
We waited nine seasons for this couple to finally make it. NINE SEASONS. But it was so worth it. Angela and Dwight were set up to get together early on, but faced many obstacles throughout the show. A dead cat, a pregnancy contract, and a gay senator to name a few. But, in the end, Dwight was finally able to express to Angela how much he loved her by proposing to her on the side of a rode with a bullhorn. And we all loved it.
2. Michael Scott and Holly Flax
This couple was the epitome of the whole "Be with someone who makes you laugh" saying. Michael and Holly understood each other, and were great from the minute they started dating. Even when she left for the Nashua branch, Michael knew he just had to wait for her, and she'd find her way back to him. And she did. And they had one of the best proposals on T.V., in the office that started it all.
1. Jim Halpert and Pam Beesly (Obviously)
I mean, did you honestly expect anyone else to take the top ranking? From the minute the show began, we were rooting for them to get together. It was agonizing to watch Jim fall for Pam first, then for Pam to call off her engagement only for Jim to begin dating Karen. And then it finally happened, and audiences loved it. Perhaps it was because their situation was so relatable to many viewers. They were best friends who became husband and wife. The actors had such great chemistry, and the result was honest, realistic, wonderful television magic.
